the meetin isnt scheduled yet as far as i know..... last year we had it in like march..... but i'd say build the same as every other year

Just maybe I will have to do that I have ran before broken leg and all I'm sure cody will bring a car he likes to go to new places and By the way shirado you need to get a big herby derby count for tappen or there will be no more jerry says

As I'm sure your aware, I am looking to start a derby in Max ND. What I need is some info on what people would be interested in participating in.
OPtion 1: Thinking of 80's and newer, barrels with seam welding from the a-arm forward, no extra metal added. Can use radiator, but if using a barrel, radiator must be removed from the car.
Option 2 is any make, any model, if an 80's or newer class car, can weld from a-arms forward, no barrels.
Option 3 association rules, with a "twist" would allow turn outs. Would allow tire flaps, would allow welding doors shut, with a max of 4 per door, max of 6"x6" plate.
These are just a few Ideas, If you have any other idea of something that you would like to run, or that would bring you to the derby, Let me know! It's something I would like to get going and keep going for awhile. But in order to do that, I need input so I can present it to the people who would be helping me with putting it on.

I've been waiting for an 80's and newer derby that allows leafs, or at least hump plates. I agree with welding A -Arms forward. I like the ability to run at least 4 all-thread from the top of the hood/trunk through the frame and 2 straps to the bumper in front and back. I like a full weld show with 3x3 or 4x4 inch plates spaced about 1 foot apart. I've never ran tire flaps before but I would definately do it if I could. I'm not a fan of barrel derbys just because they seem unsafe, and the idea of taking a bath in boiling hot water doesn't get me to excited. I know guys know how to build them and that most are safe, but it just takes that one guy that has a mickey mouse set up to ruin someones day.
I know the ford guys won't agree but I think tilting should be ruled out and used in outlaw derbys only. I guess in my opinion it only benfits the 80's and newer fords, mercs and lincolns, which are already stout.

I'm gonna find out if they will support me in doing it first, and go from there. I'm going to have to look and see what other weekends there are derby's around and go from there.
