Top Dog Promotions Big car rules.

1. Any 1980 and newer sedan or station wagon.
2. Helmet with eye protection and seatbelt must be worn at all times.
3. Pits 5 mph max.
4.Top 3 cars in feature are subject to re-inspection.
5. Any controversies or protest must be brought up before drivers meeting.
6. ANY QUESTIONS CALL FIRST, IF IT DOESN’T SAY YOU CAN DO IT , DON’T DO IT.
Clarification of some rules from phone calls may have to be determined the day of the derby, due to interpretation of rules by car builder.
7. Judges decision is final.
8. All glass, plastic and interior must be removed before arriving at the derby.
9. Motor swaps are allowed. Motors can be welded or chained with 2 pieces of chain no longer then 14 inches long per chain.
10. Distributor protectors are allowed but can not be connected to dash bar , or reinforce the doghouse or radiator support in any way.(CHECK SCHEDULE FOR KICKER SHOWS) You cannot have a kicker to protector from dash bar. Firewall cannot be reinforced, but you can run a 3 inch wide by ½” thick flat window bar but cannot be welded to protector.
11. You can run a 4 point around the driver witch consist of bar across the dash witch cannot be with in 5 inches of the firewall. A bar behind the seat and it must be with in 12 inches of driver seat. And 2 door bars connecting the dash and seat bar. You can run a roll over bar that has to connect to the rear seat bar. The roll bar can be welded to the frame and bolted in 3 spots to the roof. The roll bar is the only bar that can be welded to the frame.
12. You can have a rear window bar witch can be 3 inch wide ½” thick and be welded to roof and where trunk lid and speaker deck meet. If you have a slanted roll bar you cannot run a rear window bar...
13. Gas tank protector may be used. These protectors can not be wider then 24 inches at the widest point no exceptions. The protector can go to the rear floor pan but not bolted or welded. If you have gone over board you will cut it out.
14. Batteries must be moved to passenger floor board and covered.
15. All outside body seams may be welded. If floors are rusty you may patch with sheet metal only.
16. Bumper shocks can be welded solid. You can run home made bumper shocks no longer then 12 inches. You can weld top frame seam with a single ¼ inch pass only. If car is rusted or pre-ran you can fix these spots with 6 4x4 ¼ inch thick plates but we must be able to see where car was rusted or bent.
17. Height limit is 22 inches to bottom of bumper max and now lower the 16 inches .
18. Bumpers are interchangeable any year. You may reinforce the 80 and newer (front only) bumpers but reinforcement must be between the bumper shocks and inside the bumper. If you are running an old iron bumper on 80 and newer car you cannot reinforce it.
19. You may bolt or wire you hood in 6 places, hood must have 12x12 hole. Core support may be wired to front bumper, but no wire in front of the radiator. You may run two 2 inch wide ¼ thick straps from core support to bumper. You can run a 36 inch piece of angel in center of radiator support on top . If radiator support needs repaired you must use sheet metal. Hood must be open for inspection.
20. You can weld the trunk with 3 inch ¼ thick metal. You can run three 3 inch wide ¼ thick straps from the trunk lid to rear bumper. If car is wedged or unable to see in trunk you may be asked to cut a hole in it for inspection reasons.
21. You can remove the factory body bolts and replace with 1 inch all thread and 3 inch washers max 1 inch gap between body and frame. You can run all thread up through the hood and use as hood bolt. All washer must be in the frame and not hinder from seeing in frame.
22. .You can run any 5 lug rear end and rear end protector that must be within 6 inches of the rear end. You can weld or chain coil springs in.
23. You may bolt your fenders and quarter panels with up to 6 bolts. You may repair panels if ripped open but you can only over lap rip 1 inch with sheet metal. YOU MAY NOT RE-SKIN YOUR BODY PANELS. IF YOU HAVE GONE OVER YOU WILL HAVE TO CUT IT.
24.You can reinforce the a-frame and tie rods. You can weld a-frame solid to the frame...
25. Suspension does not have to bounce. You can run solid suspension such as using all thread as shocks. You can not convert coil sprung cars to leaf.
26. All cars must have fan covered at all times.
27. You can run a 20 inch long ¼ thick hump plate that has to contour to the frame above the rear end and be welded to the outside of the frame.
28. In 2010 their will be no pinning of frame rails in anyway.

12. All electric fuel pumps must shut off with key or have a separate switch that is clearly marked..

WE must be able to see the rust and NO plates on fresh cars unless rusted. If preran must use plates to fix bent spots.

23. You may bolt your fenders and quarter panels with up to 6 bolts. You may repair panels if ripped open but you can only over lap rip 1 inch with sheet metal. YOU MAY NOT RE-SKIN YOUR BODY PANELS. IF YOU HAVE GONE OVER YOU WILL HAVE TO CUT IT.
24.Factory leaf sprung cars can build springs to 5 leafs per side max. springs don‘t have to stagger...

B&M

2010 DEMO DERBY RULES
*There are no Grey areas in the rules*
Note – B&M Motorsports reserves the right to add or delete rules for safety depending upon track or area

Vehicle Type – Any 1980 or newer stock hardtop automobile including station wagons, but not including hearses, trucks, jeeps, limos, checker cabs, Chrysler Imperials, or all wheel drives (4x4). SAME RULES APPLY FOR OLD CAR DERBIES
Mini Cars – All rules for mini cars are same except:
1. Must be 104” wheelbase or less (This includes station wagons)
2. Must have a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.
3. No truck springs. 5 spring max allowed. No clamping, taping, etc.
Car Preparation – This is what you are allowed to do, so if it doesn’t say it, you can’t do it. Any questions CALL FIRST! All glass (windshield, headlights, tail lights, side glass, and rear glass) plastic grills and chrome must be removed. You will not be allowed to strip car on fairground property!
Pitching – Cars may be pitched by cutting the 3 tabs at box and re-welded with one ¼” weld max. No added metal.
Frames – No reinforcements, trailer hitches, or skid plates. Fords may weld top seam from front of a-arms forward, GM’s may weld top seam from feet forward, with one pass ½”weld max. All cars may run a 22 inch long by ¼” thick hump plate. Must be with in one inch of center of hump and contour to the frame. Absolutely nothing around frame to cage.
Bumpers – Bumpers are interchangeable. Bumpers must be no higher than 22 inches from bottom to ground and no lower than 16 inches from bottom to ground. Must have a car bumper (No truck or homemade bumpers allowed) No reinforced bumper or adding metal to bumper. Chains or wire allowed in 4 spots only, wire can be no more than 3 strands per spot. All bumper shock components must be OEM automotive material. No long tubing for shocks. You may collapse shocks and push into frame, weld them on good, but don’t add metal. No welding plates or straps from bumper to trunk lid.
Body – Must have a space of ¾” between body and frame. If no space, car won’t be inspected. Body bolts may be changed, but must use bolts no larger than ¾” with flat washers no larger than 3 inches across and ¼” thick. You are allowed 1 extra pair of body bolts. Body bolts must be up inside of frame, not on bottom side. No wedging or doubling of body panels allowed. May patch sheet metal on front 2 doors of pre-run cars only, with max of 1/8 inch metal. Quarters must remain vertical.
Doors – All doors must be fastened shut by wire, chains, or welding. Welding straps no wider than 3 inch. May reinforce driver’s door with a 6 inch wide by ¼ inch plate running center of door.
Hood, Trunk Lid – Trunks maybe welded solid with no wider than 3 inch strapping, and secured in 5 spots with ¾ inch threaded rod (body bolts) 1 of which can only be sheet metal to sheet metal. Must have a 14 inch hole in hood and trunk for inspection purpose. Hood can only be secured in 6 places (2 from core support and 4 more of your choice) Angle iron welded to inside fender for purpose of securing hood can be no longer than 3 inches. Must have hood unless fan is removed. Hood cut outs maybe secured with 6 – 3/8” bolts and washers. Trunk lids must remain 50% in stock location.
Tires – Round and black. Fenders maybe cut for clearance and may add 3 – 3/8” bolts and washers to cut out. No Screws! Valve stem protectors ok unless deemed a hazard to fans, use common sense! No wheel weights.
Suspension – No leaf conversions. No bounce can either bolts a-arms or weld 3 inches on each side of a-arm. No ball joint protectors.
Fuel – Fuel tank must be in rear seat location and properly secured and covered. All stock fuel tanks must be removed. Electric fuel pumps must be wired into vehicle ignition switch so pump turns off when engine is shut off. Fuel lines must be connected to tank fittings and hose clamps. No more than 7.5 gallons of fuel allowed.
Batteries – All batteries must be solid mounted in passenger compartment and properly covered.
Radiators – All radiators must be in stock location with no extra radiator or water supply. May have no bigger than 33 inch 2”x2”x1/4” metal on top of core support above radiator. Core support space must only be between the top of frame and bottom of core support. Nothing through support.
Brakes – All cars must have brakes before beginning derby.
Reinforcements – Gas tank protector is allowed, but no wider than 24 inches wide and may not be welded or bolted to seat backing. No large kicker box in backseat. May run front and rear window bar 3 inch wide and ¼’ thick. Front Bar maybe welded 3 inches on roof and welded to cowl, may not act as kicker. Back Bar maybe welded 3 inches to roof and straight down and welded only 3 inches. You are allowed a 4 point cage and roll over bar straight up welded to door bars. May be bolted 2 times to roof. No braces can touch frame. No bar or pipe larger than 6 inches. Door bars may not extend more than 10 inches past door post on 4 door car and 5 inches on 2 door car, and can’t go past the firewall.
Rear ends – Rear end must be of a passenger car origin (5 lug max). Rear end braces are allowed but must form to rear end. In no way should it touch frame at anytime.
98 & Newer – May not bolt lower trailing arms though both sides of frame. Must be bolted as older pre-98 cars were (inside frame)
Motor and Trans – Your choice. Distributor protector and engine cradles with pulley protectors are allowed. No chains and No kicker bar. Must have 6 inch space between dash bar and distributor protector.
Safety Rules – Safety belt, D.O.T. approved helmet with shield or safety glasses must be used. Drivers must stay in car with arms, legs, and head inside at all times. Window net recommended. No one under 14 years old allowed in pit area. All drivers must be 16 years old or older. No hot dogging in pit. Only drivers allowed in ring while derby in progress.
General Rules
1. All drivers and drivers only must attend drivers meeting.
2. All feature cars are subject to re-inspection.
3. All cars need to be at track at least an hour before start time.
4. Driver whose engine die or who don’t move for one minute will be DQ.
5. Final 3 cars must swap licks. No double teaming, no tapping. Drivers doing this will be warned once.
6. No Refunds.
7. Refusing to obey orders of B&M Motorsports officials will be cause for DQ.
8. All cars must be ready when called or we go without you. Sorry, but we must keep the show going.
9. Fire extinguisher highly recommended.
10. Patching a pre-run car is allowed, must use only3”x3”x1/4”plates. 2spots in front and 2 spots rear. 1 side of
frame only! Don’t wrap frame, as we want to be able to see why patch was applied.

14.THE LAST 2 CARS IN THE FEATURE IF STUCK TOGATHER WILL NOT BE PULLED APART LAST HIT WINS,NOT LAST CAR RUNNING, OFFICIAL HAS FINAL SAY
15.ONLY DRIVER AND TRACK OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED ON TRACK AT ANYTIME
16.YOU WILL HAVE 2 MIN TO MAKE AN AGGRESSIVE HIT OR YOU WILL BE DQ'ED
17.THE WINNER OF A HEAT MAY SUBSTITUTE ANOTHER CAR IN THE FEATURE IF HE OR SHE CAN PROVE THEIR CAR IS UNABLE TO COMPETE.

YOU MUST PAY BEFORE CAR IS INSPECTED IF CAR DOES NOT PASS INSPECTION THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS, SO PLEASE BRING YOUR CAR TO THE RULES.

LAWN MOWERS RULES(ENTRY FEE 30.00)

1. ANY MOWER WITH A 12” OR SMALLER REAR RIM OR WITHOUT LUG NUTS
2. MOWER DECK MUST BE REMOVED
3. MOWER MUST HAVE LEG PROTECTION, THAT MUST BE WELDED TO THE FRAME AND CAN’T EXCEED 6” PAST THE FRONT FOOT REST
4. MOWER MUST HAVE BACK PROTECTION, TO BE WELDED BETWEEN THE REAR WHEELS AND MUST RUN UP ABOVE THE REAR SEAT
5. MOWERS MUST REMOVE BATTERIES BEFORE ENTERING THE TRACK
6. TIE RODS AND TIE RODS ENDS MAY BE REINFORCED
7. YOU CAN HAVE REINFORCEMENTS AROUND THE ENGINE, BUT IT MUST BE UNDER THE SHEET METAL AND STILL LOOK LIKE A FACTORY MOWER
8. IF YOUR MOWER DOESN’T HAVE LUG NUTS HOLDING ON THE REAR TIRE YOU CAN WELD A HUB ON IT TO CONVERT THE C-CLIP HUB TO A LUG TYPE HUB

IF MOWER IS TURNING OVER DON’T PUT YOUR LEG OUT TO CATCH MOWER IF YOU DO YOU ARE OUT.
