The Bonners Ferry Derby put on by the Lion's Club is on Sep. 8th, and you can bet the Faulkswill be there. 2timeloser...do you know if the Pocatello Elks are going to try to put on another derby this year?

Yes they are doing it the 27th of July we still need some rules. Why are the faulkers wanting to run with us? Take care Dave they build killer cars.

I got the rules for Preston on the 16th, they say no imperials (there was one there last year) so i guess i'll have to wait . . .

A derby will be held on Jul 7, 2007 at 6pm at the Madison County Fairgrounds in Rexburg, Idaho. I am part of our local Search and Rescue who is sponsoring it. If you are interested shoot me an email at jcor88@gmail.com. Looking forward to seeing many of you there!!!

Dan, I will try to track down some rules for you or you can call 208-356-5426 (Search and Rescue). They can email you or direct mail the rules to you. Whatever you prefer.

The derby in Rexburg on July 7 at 6pm will be at the Madison Fairgrounds. If you want more info call Rhett at 208-390-9314.

Prize money is 1st-$1,000; 2nd-$500; 3rd-$250. Most aggressive-$100; best paint job-$100.

Should be a fun derby! Hope you all can make it!

Here is the rules I just got for Rexburg........


MADISON COUNTY SEARCH & RESCUE DEMOLITION DERBY 2007

The Madison County Search & Rescue Demolition Derby is open to all drivers. Entries are open to MEN or WOMEN who have a valid driver’s license. In the interest of safety and in fairness to all contestants, the following rules and regulations SHALL apply.

DRIVER ENTRY
1. Driver MUST be 18 years of age OR have a notarized permit signed by a parent or guardian.
2. Driver MUST furnish his/her own car OR HAVE SOMEONE SPONSOR HIS/HER CAR.
3. American cars or station wagons are allowed. NO jeeps, trucks, carryalls, convertibles, ambulances, etc.
4. Drivers and pitmen must sign a release form prior to race time.


PARTICIPATION REGULATIONS
1. Drivers may maneuver forward or backward.
2. NO deliberate head on’s or hitting opponents driver or passenger side doors.
3. If driver does not hit another car within ninety seconds, that driver shall be disqualified. DO NOT play “possum”. No team driving.
4. Driver MUST remain in the car until the heat is over.
5. All drivers and pitmen MUST attend the Pit Meeting prior to the Derby.
6. After the Pit Meeting, any questions concerning the Derby may be brought forth by the DRIVER ONLY. Harassment of the help by pitmen, etc. will not be tolerated and will be a cause for disqualification. Pitmen’s behavior will be the responsibility of the DRIVER.
7. Decision of the Judges is final on winners and disqualifications.
8. As soon as the first heat is on the track, the second heat cars MUST be lined up at the gate. Cars not lined up immediately will not get into the heat. This is the responsibility of the DRIVER AND PIT CREW.
9. Cars eligible for the main event MUST line up immediately after the consolation heat. Cars not in position following the last heat will be scratched from the main event. A reasonable amount of time will be allowed for the last heat cars to prepare for the main event.
10. Anyone in possession of or under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be removed from the premises.
11. Any car that is disqualified due to noncompliance will be ineligible for an entry fee refund.

HEATS
Heats will be run, depending upon the number of cars, and shall be determined by the Madison County Search & Rescue officials prior to the Demolition Derby.

1. The total number of cars entered in the derby will be divided into heats. Cars will be placed in heats from numbers drawn from a hat.
2. The last four cars running from each heat will advance to the main event.
3. If less than four heats, after all heats have run, there will be a consolation heat for all cars that didn’t make it into the main heat. The top four finishers will advance into the main heat.





ENTRY FEE
Each car shall pay a $40.00 entry fee. ALL DRIVERS AND PITMEN MUST PAY $5.00 EACH. All drivers and pitmen MUST sign the insurance release form prior to the demolition derby. The release form will be located at the pit entry gate. Entry fee shall be $35.00 if received by June 12, 2006.

PREPARATION OF CARS
1. Slogans, advertising or painting may be placed anywhere on the car. Put driver’s name on both front doors in large, bold print.
2. Radiators and fans may be removed but not relocated. Batteries may be moved to a more secure position. Bumpers and fenders may be trimmed. Driver’s door MUST be reinforced. Passenger side must be reinforced if running with a passenger. Length of reinforcement may not exceed 8 inches past the doors. Reinforcement behind the driver’s door from side to side is allowed. The only metal that may be added for reinforcement is to the doors.
3. ALL GLASS AND CHROME TRIM must be removed before reaching the fairgrounds.
4. All cars must have been vacuumed clean to remove any debris from the interior and the trunk area
All broken glass must be removed.
5. Maximum of six gallons of gas in tank. Gas tank MUST BE REMOVED & RELOCATED to the back seat area and properly secured.
6. No special bumpers, extra weights, trailer hitches, special lifts, blocks, shackles or any reinforcements.
7. All doors and wagon gates MUST be strapped, wired or welded shut or you will be disqualified.
8. Safety belts and helmets required.
9. NO DRIVER OR PITMEN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL will be allowed to participate or enter the fairgrounds.
10. Inspection of cars will be made by the Madison County Search & Rescue officials prior to the derby. Their decision will be final.
11. Carburetors must be accessible by either a hole in the hood or a removable cover.
12. All trunks must be empty of debris, junk, spare tires, etc. Trunks must have an access area to allow inspection
13. All batteries and gas tanks must be covered with rubber to avoid punctures and spills.
14. Seams may be welded their entire length, body may be welded or bolted to the frame.
15. Tire choice will be left to the discretion of the driver.

REMOVAL OF CARS

Each driver MUST arrange for removal of their car within 24 hours, or they will be towed away at the owner’s expense.
DATE: July 7, 2007 PLACE:Madison County Fairgrounds, Rexburg, Idaho
TIME: Check in at 2:30 P.M. - Derby will begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. Driver’s and pitmen meeting at 4:30 P.M.
REMINDER: Entries will be limited to the first 36 cars registered.

Well you think the Rexburg rules are odd. Pocatellos derby the 27th of July POW Absolutly no roll cages or safty bars allowwed! We are going to drivers meeting Friday anyone palnning on runnig that derby call me at 238-0100 because we need DERBY drivers at that meeting.

Challis Idaho is doing a derby Aug 24th I heard this is a great derby. Very well ran. I will have rules Thursday for anyone who wants them please email me I also have afax machien or can mail you a copy. Come on guys support this if you can. Heard throphu is state of the art built by Cody Laroy.
